About the Team

The Payments team is focused on merchant payments, consumer payments, payment plans, and debt collections; this highly intelligent team works on building fast, scalable software handling high transaction volumes. The bottom-line? We help keep the money flowing.

This is the scale that you'll be joining: 12 Million customers, 94K+ merchants, most recent quarter (Q1 FY23) total transaction volume of $1.5 Billion (USD); these represent significant year-over-year increases. How would you like to be part of scaling these 10X? 20X? 50X?

Our current tech stack is primarily C#, .NET Core, VueJS, React Native, Kafka, Microsoft Azure Services, containerized microservices (Docker and Kubernetes); we are continuously looking into new technologies to impact how we scale, reduce latency, improve reliability, and increase security.

About the Role

  • You will People manage multiple teams of 6-10 software engineers (focusing on team happiness, output, and growth) while building a globally-scalable consumer/merchant fintech platform.
  • You will be part of the engineering leadership group who collaborates with Product to visualize the future of Zip payments, manage ongoing projects, and prioritize upcoming ones.
  • You will work on and help develop a modern cloud-based, microservices architecture, employing Domain Driven Design, CQRS, and Event Sourcing.
  • The payment teams work with merchants to integrate Zip into their ecosystem, often in a very custom way (many of these integrations are highly complex).

🔥 Current Hot Initiatives

  • Architecting and developing ACH (electronic payments and transfers) repayment capability.
  • Architecting and developing an in-house, cross-team solution for merchant invoicing (really large merchants).
  • Providing critical engineering support in developing algorithm solutions to continually reduce loss rates and manage multiple compliance requests.

What You Will Bring

  • Direct software engineering experience from concept to delivery of a B2C or B2B platform and associated applications.
  • You still enjoy coding – but you also enjoy developing software engineers.
  • Strong teamwork and leadership skills with experience in mentoring engineers.
  • A proactive focus on getting things done, strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work with set deadlines.
  • Ideal "bring" would be experience with general push/pull payment methods (for example, Stripe API, ACH debit, Square, Helcim, Paytm, PayPal, Razorpay, PayU, Instamojo, CCAvenue, Authorize.net, GoCardless, Amazon Pay - this is not an inclusive list).
