Join Zip’s Technology function, responsible for building and maintaining seamless, secure and sustainable products that enable customers to shop with confidence and merchant partners to grow their brands.

The NZ engineering team works closely with our US team on Zip’s US merchant products.

We use microservices, domain-driven design and event-driven architectures to ensure scalability and performance as we grow, and all this presents some fascinating engineering problems for our squads to solve. 

As a Senior Software Engineer in our US Merchants team, your purpose is to develop and deploy high quality software, as part of your product squad. You’ll work with your team on the merchant experience, liaising with cross-functional teams and departments. 

We are seeking two experienced software engineers to become part of our team. While both positions involve full-stack responsibilities, one will have a slightly greater emphasis on front-end development, while the other will lean slightly more towards back-end expertise.

Whether you meet some or all of the desirable attributes below, we’d still love to hear from you:

  • 5+ years’ experience working as a software engineer in an agile team
  • Experience with .NET Core, React (and Typescript is desirable) 
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure preferrable)
  • Experience with Test-driven development (TDD) 
  • Working experience across RESTful API design, Microservices, IaC, CICD, Docker
  • Flexibility, an open mind, curiosity and passion for learning
