About the Role

As the National Account and Business Development Manager you will join a fun and energetic ANZ commercial team, focused on driving value to our customers and merchants alike.

As we continue to increase business in NZ, we are looking for someone who can lead the regions top merchant accounts as well securing new merchant acceptance to our platform. The role will be ~70% account management, managing a portfolio of merchants across a variety of verticals. We have a strong growth pipeline with the opportunity to drive increased acceptance of Zip across New Zealand.

You will play a pivotal role in the NZ team, leading from the front and owning the commercial remit in New Zealand. You will have a strong presence in the NZ operational leadership team, representing the commercial team strategy where possible to achieve key metrics and objectives, whilst staying customer and merchant obsessed.

In this role you will:

  • Build and help execute the go-to-market strategy for NZ, developing sales strategies to increase portfolio performance in TTV and revenue.
  • Build and grow key relationships across your portfolio, ensuring overall quality of maintaining these relationships across multiple levels.
  • Manage the end-to-end sales cycle opportunities from lead generation through to go live for new business
  • Work closely with the marketing team to ensure we generate best offers in region to support customer demand by engaging your portfolio to drive engagement
  • Responsible for strategic account planning to align with success and  performance metrics.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all parties are on track with planned projects, deadlines, and schedules
  • Financial reporting against KPIs and scorecard to monitor and optimize account performance

To help us level up, you'll bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience in sales. account management and/or business development
  • Ability to analyze business problems and utilize iterative business analysis techniques to develop functional documentation.
  • Strong analytical skills including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Capable of troubleshooting problems and identifying solutions.
  • Ability to manage change in client relationships
  • Self-starter able to work well independently.
  • Experience working with SalesForce will be preferable.
  • Effective verbal and written communications at all levels is critical.
  • Experience providing and verifying deadlines and deliverables.
  • Experience in navigating and collaborating across cross-functional teams.
