About the Role

We are currently experiencing exponential growth and are scaling our marketing team in New  Zealand. Zip is looking for a Junior Digital Designer to support Zip through its next growth phase. This  role sits within the Marketing Team and will support our existing Senior Digital Designer in building  the Zip brand in New Zealand. 

 As a Junior Digital Designer, you will be responsible for supporting the ideation, content creation  and execution of both internal and external materials to support Zip’s growth as we drive Zip as the  preferred payment option at checkout. You will apply your design thinking and expertise to support our Marketing Team across all channels - paid, owned and earned where required. As a key brand  ambassador, you will also support the Senior Digital Design in continuing to shape the brand and visual design language for Zip in New Zealand.  

You will be joining Zip at a significant phase of our rapid growth. As a business we’ve just eclipsed a network of 30k+ of the most popular retailers across the globe and have a global customer base  >5m using our digital products.
 This role is approximately 80% production, 10% ideation, 10% exploration.

The focus of this role will be on:

  • Supporting the New Zealand Marketing and Growth Team to execute the annual Zip  calendar of integrated campaigns and programs that build effective awareness, acquisition  and engagement (frequency of Zip usage) of Zip customers across paid (e.g. social, SEM,  radio), owned (e.g. email, push, native app) and earned channels (PR and events).  
  • Partnering with the New Zealand business development team to develop highly engaging  business development materials 
  • Working with the Partner Marketing team to create high quality Partner launch assets  across web, social and email for new mid-market and SME Partners 
  • Understanding our customer and merchant network to design engaging materials that  communicate how our digital products support them to own it. 
  • Supporting product, partner, and marketing experiments, to test and learn then scale where  appropriate.
  • Supporting the ongoing evolution of the Zip brand, the visual design language and how the  brand is brought to life across all partner and customer touchpoints and communications.  This includes the maintenance of documentation, asset libraries etc. 
  • Collaborating with the growing New Zealand Marketing and Growth team to make Zip’s  digital products the first payment choice everywhere and every day. 
  • Support the process to codify our design assets to drive consistency and efficiency to our  internal and external communications. 

To help us level up you'll bring:

  • 1-2+ years’ experience in a design role, delivering B2B or B2C campaigns in retail/e commerce or double-sided marketplaces. 
  • Proven ability to create engaging content across key digital channels such as web, social  media and eDM.
  • Ability to tell stories, develop campaign ideas and execute (i.e. create assets)
  • Confident in PPT/Google Slides, Sketch, Adobe CC, inc. Photoshop and Illustrator. 
  • Basic UI/UX understanding. You will be very comfortable with everything digital and have  good experience applying a customer lens. 
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to  interact with peers in a variety of settings.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects, shifting priorities and  deadlines.
  • A natural team player, with the ability to manage stakeholders, influence and sell your  ideas.
  • A lover of consumer product, who understands how to engage and retain customers  through compelling campaigns and content. 
  • Understands the power of data and responds effectively to its insights and learnings.
  • A track record of ideation and execution of marketing initiatives that make significant, positive impacts to the business
  • Resourceful and creative – able to brainstorm and conceptualise
