You’ll play a pivotal role in helping Zip become the default payment method for everybody, everywhere. Our issuing product allows customers to transact anywhere a Visa is accepted. In this role, you’ll make that concept a full reality, increasing transaction success rates and platformatizing issuing for global use. Our acquiring product drives our “pay in four” model allowing customers to budget better and unlock their buying power. In this role, you’ll get exposure to new payment methods, payment processing, and collections.

The successful Product Manager has experience shipping simple solutions to deep, complex problems, speaks both Technology and Finance, and is passionate about data-informed decisions.

As our Senior Product Manager for Payments you’d be reporting to the Group Product Manager, Payments, and will own Issuing, Acquiring, and the Platforms of our Payments Product.

The Role

  • Support Zip’s vision and strategy for our payments experience and infrastructure, with a focus on our issuing, acquiring, and platforms product that allows customers to shop anywhere
  • Define, develop, a/b test, and launch product improvements on a global scale
  • Collaborate successfully with engineers, designers, finance to launch innovative products at scale
  • Think strategically and high level but also get your hands dirty in the details
  • Listen to both the consumer and merchants and connect platform work to customer and business strategic initiatives
  • Up to date on all the latest trends in new payment methods and financial products

Experiences and Expertise You'll Offer

  • 5+ years of software payments product management experience, with demonstrated wins would be incredible
  • System thinker who can solve problems both near and long term
  • Demonstrated ability to ramp up quickly and hit the ground running
  • Strong communication skills, including presentation skills, especially to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to analyze and identify use case scenarios, define detailed acceptance criteria and definition of done
  • You are technical (or you are quite adept at geek speak) and enjoy working with engineers to dig into the guts of a product
  • Excellent SQL knowledge and can generate data insights yourself
  • Bonus points if you have experience with two-sided marketplaces or platforms
  • Extra bonus points if you have direct product experience with Stripe API, ACH debit, or general push/pull payment methods (for example, Square, Helcim, Paytm, PayPal, Razorpay, PayU, Instamojo, CCAvenue, Authorize.net, GoCardless, Amazon Pay) or new payment methods and flow of funds (authorization and capture)
