About the role
As the management accountant in Mexico, you will form part of our global Finance team, working closely with various teams across Mexico, Australia, and the US to support the local day-to-day accounting needs of the business and month end reporting.
You will also work closely with various teams in Mexico from an operations perspective to ensure that we are meeting all obligations and supporting the business from a finance perspective where needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of the month-end Management accounts & Executive reports, including month-end journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, balance sheet recs, etc.
  • Intercompany journals & reconciliations
  • Maintain Fixed Asset Register and depreciation schedules
  • Monthly reconciliation of Loan book including merchant payments and customer repayments
  • Preparation of payroll including, leave, vouchers, bonus’, onboarding and terminations, etc
  • Management of all benefit platforms
  • Ownership of Accounts Payable including all supplier payments and SLA’s
  • Daily merchant payouts and operational reporting on merchants
  • Maintaining Cash Flow forecast 
  • Prepare any statutory reporting requirements ie. VAT, NFRI, CFDI, etc for lodgment with external accountants
  • Act as a liaison for any external tax/legal reporting requirements on behalf of the MD
  • Assist with audit queries & requests
  • Work with various teams on payment disputes/fraud/risk etc. and manage any external relationships as well as process improvement.
  • Support the business with new initiatives in a finance capacity
  • Contribute to the evolution & continuous improvement of Zip’s finance processes & procedures

To help us level up, you’ll bring:

  • Qualified CPA/CA 
  • Min 3-5 years experience in a similar role, with month-end process.
  • Min 3 years experience with payroll and Supplier payments
  • Experience in Foreign Exchange and working with various currencies
  • Experience with intercompany & preparing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Solid grasp of accounting standards & principles
  • Intermediate to Advanced level Excel skills.
  • Experience in statutory reporting
  • Proven experience in process improvement 
  • Experience in Fintech or Payments Industry
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
