About Windsor
Windsor is more than a fashion retailer; for the brand’s loyal customer base, it’s a lifestyle. The brand specializes in on-trend items at an accessible price point, accommodating women as they move
through life’s most important moments, from homecoming dances to first jobs, parenthood, and
beyond.
With a mission to empower and inspire women, Windsor’s focus is on making beautiful clothing
accessible to a broad set of the population. “We provide on-trend fashion apparel at a great value
with something for every occasion, from Sunday brunch to date night to PTA meetings,” says VP of
Marketing Catherine Seaton.

The Challenge
Windsor was no stranger to the concept of buy now, pay later before partnering with Zip. They had previously been with a competitor in the space, but were seeking a more overall
compelling BNPL package for the brand.
VP of Ecommerce Tina Konow was laser-focused on finding the solution that would best serve the Windsor customer’s needs. “85% of our traffic comes from mobile, so we wanted to make sure that every touchpoint throughout the journey was optimized to accommodate that behavior,” says Konow. “We needed a buy now, pay later solution that would fit seamlessly into that journey.”

The Solution
When it came time to choose a new partner, a number of factors clinched the deal. “When Zip came into the mix, it was a combination of feeling like this was a really great partner and the
easy mobile access for customers that convinced us to make the switch,” recalls Konow.
Additionally, while the majority of customers begin their Windsor shopping journey online, shopping in-store remains a key part of the customer experience. According to Seaton, “as an
omnichannel retailer, the idea that Zip could help us bridge the online and in-store customer experiences was very enticing from the get-go.”
The integration with Windsor’s Shopify Plus platform went live in October 2020, and the transition was seamless. “Amongst all of the integration projects I’ve been a part of at Windsor, this was one of the easiest ones. It was not a heavy lift,” says Konow.

The Results
Windsor has enjoyed a healthy 55% lift in AOV for Zip purchases, and Zip’s share of wallet has remained steady in the months since integration. Even in the weeks immediately following the launch, the share of Zip transactions remained stable despite the $1 per installment fee charged to customers as part of the merchant fee for payment plan (MFPP).
According to a recent survey, Windsor customers recognize the value in using Zip’s buy now, pay later service and are willing to pay for it: of those not previously aware of the $1 per installment fee, 87% stated that they are still likely to continue purchasing from Windsor using Zip. According to one such respondent, “I am willing to pay the fee because I appreciate the convenience of splitting my larger purchase into smaller, spaced-out payments.”
Furthermore, overall satisfaction with Zip among Windsor customers is sky high: 97% of customers said that they would continue using Zip at Windsor, and 90% would use Zip in-store if this option becomes available. Luckily for them, the in-store rollout is already underway—check it out at a Windsor store near you!
