eBay Australia’s millions of unique monthly visitors1, who are eligible, will now be able to pay for their purchases in monthly instalments following a partnership with major buy now, pay later (BNPL) platform Zip Co.

On eBay, Aussies can buy new, refurbished and pre-loved items accessing Australian retailers from household names like Country Road, Myer and Peter’s of Kensington to pre-loved fashion from high-end designers like Louis Vuitton, Prada and Zimmermann.

Zip is now available on eBay, giving eligible customers up to $1,000 (interest free2) with Zip Pay and up to $5,000 (interest free for 6 months3) with Zip Money.

The pandemic drove shoppers to increase their online shopping as Aussies turned to eBay for household essentials, work from home equipment and collectibles. A July 2021 survey revealed that 59% of people who had used Zip in the last three months had also purchased from eBay in the last 12 months4.

“The connection between Zip users and their appetite to purchase from eBay is clearly there, so we’re very excited about this partnership,” said Zip’s Managing Director for ANZ, Cynthia Scott.

“Zip is passionate about helping Australians spend with confidence on the things that matter most to them, and this alliance gives eBay shoppers access to fairer and more flexible ways to pay at check out – whether it be for everyday items using Zip Pay or bigger ticket items with Zip Money,” said Cynthia.

“eBay is also the most-visited online marketplace in Australia, known for working with companies that offer the best solutions for their customers – so we’re proud to deliver on our strategy of partnering with some of the largest enterprise names in the country.”

eBay Australia’s Managing Director David Ramadge said, “Introducing Zip to our platform offers a new way for eBay’s millions of unique monthly visitors1 to shop and budget this Christmas.

“eBay exists to connect people and build communities to create economic opportunity for all which aligns with our latest payment partner Zip, a customer-focused and innovative Australian company.
