As our Senior Financial Accountant, within the ANZ Financial Control team, you will manage the daily financial control activities. Reporting into our ANZ Finance Manager, you will be a true business partner to various teams across the business, as well as leading and mentoring a junior member of the team.

You’ll partner with the ANZ FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Trust Accounting and Group Reporting teams, with the overall goal to maintain and improve the integrity of our financial systems, and to deliver timely and accurate results to stakeholders.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional to work closely across the ANZ finance team, support Zip as it continuously improves systems and processes, and help set Zip up for the next phase of growth.

Interesting problems you’ll get to solve

  • Production of the month-end Management Accounts & Executive Reports, including month end journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation etc. 
  • Prepare monthly payroll journals, including annual leave and long-
    service leave accrual.
  • Monthly cost centre analysis & reporting
  • Intercompany journals & reconciliations
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist in maintaining Cashflow forecast including all cash movements between the company and trusts.
  • Review PTRS, modern slavery and ABS reporting.
  • Assist in the production of BAS, FBT, PRT, and Workers Compensation returns.
  • Manage APRA reporting and submissions, including monitoring and answering queries from APRA.
  • Support where required the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Assist with audit queries & requests.
  • Support the business with new initiatives & provide technical accounting advice to key stakeholders.
  • Exposure to technical accounting memos & papers.
  • Investigate and document internal processes & contribute to maintaining internal controls. 
  • Contribute to the evolution & continuous improvement of Zip’s finance processes & procedures.
  • Coach and guide junior members of the team.

 

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Chartered accounting background
  • Qualified CPA/CA or studying towards this
  • Prior experience in the Fintech or Payments Industry 
  • Min 2-3 years experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with the month-end process.
  • Experience in monthly management reporting, budget to actuals variance analysis and commentary
  • Experience with intercompany & preparing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Solid grasp of accounting standards & principles
  • Intermediate to Advanced level Excel skills.
  • BAS and FBT return experience.
  • Proven experience in process improvement
