Privacy Policy Summary 10 December 2024

KEY CHANGES TO ZIP CO NZ PRIVACY POLICY MADE ON 10 December 2024

 

  1. We have clarified that retailers, online marketplaces, and suppliers (Third Parties) that Zip Co NZ interacts with, are independent of Zip Co NZ. Third Parties maintain and are responsible for their own privacy policies and practices via their websites and apps and for any products or services provided.

  2. We have clarified how we collect your information. 

  3. We have clarified the types of technical, digital, and sensitive information that we collect.

  4. We have made amendments to the section “using and sharing your personal information” to clarify how we use and share your information. This includes sharing information to organisations who purchase our debt and to who we assign our debt to.

  5. We have added a section regarding identity verification and fraud.

  6. We have made amendments to the section “Access and correction of your personal information” to outline your right to request access to or correction of personal information we hold about you, as well as situations in which Zip Co NZ may not be required to provide access to or correct your personal information. 

  7. We have clarified how you may receive marketing communications from us under the section “Marketing Communications”.

  8. Changes were made to the “Cookies” section that would allow our partners (including social media platforms) to deliver targeted marketing that is relevant to your interests, deliver you with personalised content, measure the effectiveness of their advertising, or perform services on behalf of Zip Co NZ.

  9. We have made amendments to the section “How long we hold your information” to clarify why your personal information may be kept after your account is closed.

  10. The section “PCI DSS Policy” has been updated to reflect the payment gateway Zip Co NZ now uses.

  11. We have added information regarding our internal dispute resolution process and external dispute resolution scheme provider

  12. Minor drafting amendments have been made to the Privacy Policy including to the following sections:
    – “Bank Connect”
    – “Changes to this policy”
