About company: Fly Fairly is a next-generation online travel agency founded in 2023.
Upfront flight costs often put travel out of reach, limiting access for customers and conversions for airlines. Flexible payments changed that. Fly Fairly introduced installment-based bookings via Zip that cut friction at checkout, drove higher spend per trip, and opened the door to budget-friendly travel for a broader audience.
The challenge: Unlock air travel for eligible customers who are budget-conscious or underestimated by legacy credit, while improving loyalty and frequency.
The solution: Pay in 4
The result: Economical flights for travelers, stronger customer engagement, and a more inclusive travel ecosystem.
For many travelers, booking a flight means more than a chance to fly in the sky. It’s about hugging a loved one after years apart, finally seeing a new city, or taking a much-needed break. But, for a large segment of the American population, the high upfront costs of travel make flying out of reach.
Fly Fairly wanted to change that.
“At Fly Fairly, we believe travel should be accessible, economical, and responsible. By working with Zip, we give eligible customers the freedom to book flights with clear, flexible installments so they can visit loved ones, explore new places, and see more of the world without the stress of paying everything upfront.” — Alex Yardley, Fly Fairly CEO |
In November 2024, Fly Fairly expanded its payment options by integrating Zip into its booking platform. With a low-integration API rollout, the airline introduced Pay in 4, giving travelers the freedom to lock in their flights immediately and spread the cost over four easy payments. 1
In the month following launch in November 2024, Fly Fairly saw a surge in shoppers, especially eligible consumers booking their flights with flexible installments. These shoppers booked 35% more frequently and spent 25% more per booking compared to traditional payment customers.
The impact went deeper than numbers. Flexible payments opened doors for a high-value audience and gave them reasons to return. It turned travel from a stressful expense into an experience people could say yes to. For travelers, that meant more milestones celebrated, more reunions made possible, more adventures taken. For Fly Fairly, it meant not only higher booking volumes, but also long-term loyalty and connection.
Building on the success of Pay in 4, Fly Fairly and Zip are preparing to launch Pay in 8 alongside innovations like last-chance checkout and tokenization.
By partnering with Zip, Fly Fairly is reshaping what travel access looks like—making flights within reach for more people with flexible payments, helping travelers book flights, and turning once-distant experiences into real possibilities.
With Zip onboard, Fly Fairly is opening runways to new possibilities.
