Fueling growth across every booking tier

Expedia Group chose Zip to connect with a high-intent, in-app audience actively shopping with flexible payment options—including customers who may not always rely on traditional credit lines or other BNPL providers. After strong performance driving low- and mid-tier booking volume with Zip, Expedia wanted to expand growth into 4- and 5-star segments. They knew Zip could help drive travel accessibility.

After successfully driving low- and mid-tier bookings with Zip, Expedia saw an opportunity to extend that momentum into premium travel. While 4- and 5-star properties represented significant revenue potential, high-income, high-intent travelers weren’t consistently converting within the Zip app. Expedia wanted to unlock incremental revenue, increase AOV and grow bookings on premium travel while still maintaining their main segments.

Expedia and Zip launched a segmented campaign within the app. Personalized Expedia homepage banners dynamically adjusted messaging, aligning creative to reflect customer booking habit data. Budget-conscious, mid-tier, and luxury travelers each saw flexible payment offers that reflected their spend intent. By highlighting split payments at the right moment, the campaign reduced friction, and increased confidence in completing higher-value stays.
