Stepping up checkout performance

KICKS CREW is a global sneaker and streetwear marketplace serving customers seeking the latest releases and hard-to-find styles. While the retailer already offered BNPL options, it wanted to unlock incremental growth by reaching shoppers beyond its existing payment ecosystem and increasing basket sizes at checkout.

The challenge

KICKS CREW already offered other BNPLs, but recognized an opportunity to expand its customer base by attracting a different segment of shoppers.

The team wanted a buy now, pay later partner that could complement its existing payment mix to unlock additional purchasing power and deliver measurable business impact without creating operational complexity.

The solution

In October 2025, KICKS CREW expanded its payment offering by adding Zip Pay in 4 through a seamless Shopify integration, enabling the brand to start driving value almost immediately with minimal technical lift.

With other BNPL providers already in place, KICKS CREW wanted to reach a customer segment their existing solutions weren't capturing. The retailer recognized an opportunity to reach high-intent shoppers who weren't engaging with its existing BNPL options and wanted to expand purchasing power without adding friction to the customer experience.

By adding Zip to its checkout, KICKS CREW introduced greater flexibility at the point of purchase, helping more sneaker enthusiasts secure the styles they wanted while expanding access to new customer segments. For a category defined by premium price points, limited releases, and highly engaged shoppers, offering another trusted way to pay helped remove barriers at the point of purchase.

The result was a 16% increase in average order value compared to non-BNPL orders,3 demonstrating how the right payment mix can drive incremental growth while helping customers confidently purchase the products they love.
