Celebrating our Zipsterversaries: February - April

In this reflection, we celebrate three-mendous years for Victor Petrykin (Staff Engineer, US) and five-tastic years for Cathy Gaske (Inside Sales SMB Manager, AU) and Nineveh Isaac (Delivery Coordinator, AU).
Victor Petrykin (Staff Engineer, US) - Third Zipsterversary, February 23
Congratulations to Victor from our US Engineering team on recently marking his third Zipsterversary!
Victor has owned it from day one and led the team through the opportunities and challenges presented in establishing Zip in our core US market. He thinks that it’s not just the work that sets Zip apart, it’s as much about the way that the work gets done and its impact on our customers too.
“Navigating the challenges of COVID lockdowns and from a technical perspective refactoring our legacy monolithic system into microservices would be the two accomplishments I’m proudest of. I’d worked in large companies previously and the main difference for me has to be the passion and dedication to their work shown by every single Zipster.
This is a truly customer-first organisation. It’s great to know that our work is making life easier - and happier - for a lot of people.”
To double up on his three-mendous years with us, Victor’s game-changing contributions were recently recognised with a promotion to the role of Staff Engineer. Richly deserved for a two time Zipster of the Year! Nicely done mate, enjoy your celebrations!
Cathy Gaske (Inside Sales SMB Manager, AU) - Fifth Zipsterversary, March 23
We love celebrating the career milestones of our people. A huge shout out to Cathy for hitting ‘five-tastic’ (that’s five fantastic) years as a Zipster! Cathy - who works fully remote from her home in Brisbane - has held a number of roles over the years, and puts her tenure down to growing her career as we’ve grown too.
“Watching Zip grow from strength to strength and being a part of that journey to becoming a leader in the payments space has been amazing. It’s a special place to work as Zipsters are really cared for, and in return, we go above and beyond. I’d say it’s definitely something that sets us apart from other brands.
Not only am I proud to be a part of a company that offers such diversity and flexibility, but I also love that our products make such a positive difference to the lives of our customers and merchants.”
We’re with you Cathy - thank you for all you do for us…and your clients!
Nineveh Isaac (Delivery Coordinator, AU) - Sixth Zipsterversary, April 23
We recently caught up with one of our biggest personalities and brightest stars @Nineveh Isaac, who this month marks six-tacular years as a Zipster! Nin, a Delivery Coordinator in our Technology team, has previously held roles in sales and customer experience – and is a great example of what’s possible in a career at Zip.
“Thinking about what’s helped me move my career forward most quickly, I would say it’s not being afraid to ask the dumb questions, and then really listening to the advice from the many people who’ve been willing to share it. In my opinion, you’re never too good to keep improving.
If I could describe my experience as a Zipster in one word I’d say ‘fun’, or in two words ‘chaotically fun’! Things change rapidly but in the best way possible. No two days are ever the same, which means you never stop adapting and learning. We also have a lot of great events, which is a big focus for our Culture Committee, alongside celebrating diversity and inclusion in all forms.”
Congratulations on this wonderful milestone Nin, we can’t wait to see how the next chapter of your story at Zip unfolds.
Thank you to Victor, Gathy and Nin for all you do to make Zip a great place to work - we appreciate you and can't wait to see what's next for you all at Zip
