About Alexander McQueen
Lee Alexander McQueen created his namesake label in 1992 after graduating from London's Central Saint Martins. Four years later he was named the creative director at Givenchy from 1996 - 2001, until the Gucci Group bought a 51 per cent stake in his personal Britian-based label. This allowed the brand to grow exponentially and ultimately become a household fashion name of its own. McQueen pushed the boundaries of fashion throughout his life, remaining synonymous today with dark and punk-style designs including his "bumster" pants and the skull symbol.
