Founded in Hartford, Connecticut in 1969 by David Pulver and Clinton Clark, The Children's Place initially sold toys, apparel and accessories before deciding to focus solely on children’s apparel for newborns to pre-teens. The company purchased the rights to the Gymboree in 2019, making it the largest children's specialty clothing retailer. There are over 800 stores across the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada in addition to their e-commerce platform.
