You can use your Zip account to pay bills through BPAY. We pay the bill upfront, and you repay us over time. Easy!
Is there a fee?
There’s a flat $2.50 payment processing fee per bill when you pay using Zip Pay and Zip Money.*
How to pay your bills with Zip
- Open your Zip app.
- Tap the ‘Pay’ tab and make sure ‘Online’ is selected in the top corner.
- Scroll down to find ‘Pay a bill with BPAY’.
- Choose your preferred Zip account and enter your biller details.
You’ll see your bill payment in your Activity feed, alongside your other transactions.
How long does it take?
Your Zip account will be debited instantly, but it can take up to 5 business days for your biller to receive the payment.
Payments made after 4pm (AEDT) will be processed the next business day (NSW-AEST).
What if my payment is late?
Since BPAY payments can take up to 5 business days to arrive, we recommend making your payment well before your bill’s due date to avoid any late fees from your biller.
Why can’t I pay my bill with Zip?
While Zip supports most BPAY billers, some billers are restricted and can’t be paid using Zip.
Can I schedule or repeat BPAY payments?
Not at the moment, BPAY payments can only be made one at a time.
Refunds and payment issues
As Zip acts as an intermediary between you and the biller, you’ll need to contact your biller directly for any refund requests.
If a payment was made more than once by mistake:
- Check your biller account history to confirm the duplicate payments.
- See if the extra payments have been used for upcoming bills or if your biller account shows a positive balance.
- If you have a positive balance, you can ask your biller for a refund or keep the credit for future bills.
