IMPORTANT: The Instalments feature is no longer available for new purchases made from 12 August 2025. From this date, all new purchases will be placed on the Flex repayment schedule. Existing Instalment plans will continue, and you must keep making repayments as usual. For more information on these changes, please visit here.
You can switch off instalments on Zip Money on an individual purchase through the Zip app.
To switch off an individual order:
- Clicking on the individual order under “Instalments” from the 'Upcoming Repayments' section, (as shown in the example below).
- Select 'Cancel Instalment plan'.
To switch off instalments for your Zip Money account:
- Select 'Profile' icon in the top right of the Home Screen
- Tap 'Manage Zip Money account'.
- Tap 'Change Instalment settings'.
- Tap on the 'Disable Instalments' toggle.
Doing so will cancel all existing instalments, and stop any future transactions from automatically being split into equal instalments. The account balance can then be repaid at your own pace with the Flex schedule.
Please note:
If you opt out of instalments you are not able to opt back in. Also keep in mind, if the purchase isn’t fully repaid by the end of the interest-free period, interest will apply at 25.9% p.a. on the remaining balance.
Paying only the minimum monthly repayment will generally not repay a purchase within the applicable interest-free period.
