Zip's Target Market Determination

Zip has made a Target Market Determination (TMD) for each of our consumer products that you know and love, Zip Pay and Zip Money. Each TMD shows our approach to putting the consumer first, through the design and distribution of each of these products.

What is in Zip’s Target Market Determination?

Zip’s TMD for Zip Pay and Zip Money sets out; 

  1. The type of consumers who we have designed each product for (Target Market);
  2. Conditions imposed on how each product can be distributed (Distribution Conditions); 
  3. Any events or circumstances that may trigger a review of the TMD (Product Review); and
  4. Reporting requirements for distributors of our products (Reporting). 

Why does Zip have a Target Market Determination? 

We are required to comply with new laws contained under the Treasury Laws Amendment (Design and Distribution Obligations and Product Intervention Powers) Act 2019 from 5 October 2021. This law contains an obligation to have a Target Market Determination.
